Lagos is the most developed coastal state in Nigeria and it has seen tremendous developments dated as far back as the colonial era. However, due to global warming, coastal erosion and the global sea-level rise, water has sub-merged thousands of square metres of livable lagoon banks and continental shelfs. It is therefore, imperative that such transition areas need to be reclaimed and constructed upon for the numerous functional and aesthetic purposes of coastal construction.
Before the commencement of every such construction, a topo-bathymetric survey delineating the depth configuration of the crust under the water-body is required for purposes such as;
-
- Massive utility body detection
- Earthwork filling volume calculation
- Cost of site preparation
- Layout design.
